SNAP SHOT OF THE EVENT

     Union of two amazing events

·        National Short Track Championships

        Age Group Divisions – ages 9 to 70+; 10 divisions

·        U.S. Short Track Champions

        Elite skaters from across the country

●     Named this weekend:

·        10 National Age Group Champions

·        2007 U.S. Champion for Men and Ladies

·        2007 World Team of 5 Men and 5 Ladies

        World ST Championships in Milan, Italy-March 9-11, 2007

·        Junior and Senior Category 1 skaters (approx. 11 ladies & 11 men)

 

●     MASTER DIVISIONS

·        Divisions from 30 years old up to 70+

·        Compete on Thursday and Friday

·        Point system for points up to eighth place in the Final

·        Point system for points up to eighth place in the Final

·        Overall Champions, based on cumulative points, named on Friday
 

●     AGE GROUP DIVISIONS

·        Divisions from age 9 up to age 29

·        Compete on Friday, Saturday and Sunday

·        Qualifying rounds during the day, Finals at night and as part of the matinee

·        Point system for points up to eighth place in the Final

·        Overall Champions, based on cumulative points, named on Sunday
 

●     SENIOR ELITE DIVISION

·        Qualifying time to enter (1:38 Men, 1:46 Ladies in 1000 meters)

·        Must be at least 12 years old

·        1000 meter Time Trial (two skaters at one time, against the clock) skated on Thursday, along with the 4 lap time trial

·        Skaters with the top 16 1000 meter times move on to skate the rest of the weekend in Senior Elite division, skaters finishing 17th and higher move into their age appropriate division for the rest of the weekend, i.e. Juvenile, Junior or Intermediate

·        Compete on Thursday through Sunday

·        Races at night on Friday & Saturday and as part of the matinee on Sunday

·        Point system for points up to eighth place in the Final

·        A and B Finals skated in the Senior Elite division

·        Overall Champions, based on cumulative points from all events, named on Sunday

·        World Team, based on overall points from all the races, named on Sunday

·        Top 3 men and 2 ladies qualify to skate individual races at the Worlds, next 2 men and 3 ladies qualify to skate in the relay if the U.S. qualifies a relay for the Worlds
